  9. Not Another File Filter  - a comms/multi-OS environment utility.

  14. NAFF is a no-frills, quick-and-dirty utility for converting between Mac, 
  15. Dos and Unix text file formats. Just drag the file(s) you wish to convert
  16. over the NAFF icon, select the conversion required and the characters to
  17. be added to construct the output file name(s) and let it go....

  19. NAFF runs in the background under System 7 (which it requires), but in 
  20. any case is reasonably fast, so it should not often need to be 
  21. backgrounded, unless you have very large, or very many files to convert. 
  22. Double-clicking the NAFF icon will present an input file selection box
  23. immediately for conversion of a single file.

  25. Output files are in MacWrite text file format, still the lowest common
  26. denominator format and readable by any text editor/word processor.

  28. This program is free. Distribute it as you like, but only with this
  29. documentation.

  31. Future enhancements

  34. NAFF does not accept whole folders in 'drag & drop' mode yet - this may
  35. be a useful improvement. I might add a few options (setting file
  36. type and creator, default conversion etc.). More than this would be 
  37. against the original idea of a simple tool which "does nothing very much, 
  38. but does it very well".
